I’m proud to be Sushant's girlfriend: Ankita Lokhande

It's the case of finding real love while working in the reel world. And who could say it better than TV starlet Ankita Lokhande. On the sets of DID Super Moms, where the cast of Shuddh Desi Romance were present to promote their upcoming film, a surprise was in store for Sushant Singh Rajput the male lead of the film. The content team of ZEE TV had prepared a video tape for Sushant where they had taken bytes of all the prominent cast of Pavitra Rishta. Though he was touched by the gesture and all the sweet things that his ex co-stars said about him, what he didn't expect was a confession of love from his long term girlfriend Ankita Lokhande. Ankita in her video proclaims her eternal love for him in front of the world and says, "I am proud to be your girlfriend and the kind of chemistry I share with you, I can't have that with anyone else". An overwhelmed Ankita recollected the last scene they had shot together in which Sushant hugs Ankita as they part ways. She adds that at that point the moment they shared was real. They hugged as they knew this was it. The tears they cried at that time were not a by product of any glycerine but the feelings they had for each other. A visibly touched Sushant almost had tears in his eyes and was too overwhelmed to say anything. Sushant's co actors of Shuddh Desi Romance, Parineeti Chopra and Vani had a whale of a time with the super moms on the Sets of DID. While Parineeti didn't hesitate to sing the title track of Shuddh Desi Romance with contestant Zoya, Sushant and Vani were enthusiastic enough to dance while she sang. Don't miss this exciting episode of DID Super Moms this Saturday and Sunday at 9pm only on Zee TV!

Tough to get different roles on TV: Delnaaz Irani

Actress Delnaaz Irani, known for her innocent and cute roles in films and television, feels the audience has accepted her in such characters. The actress, who has been part of shows like "Yes Boss" and " Kya Huaa Tera Vaada", doesn't feel that her fans would like to see her in anything different and she is not complaining. "There is a larger audience who make a image for an actor. They have seen me in that image and they like me in that. I don't think they would want me to do something different. I am okay with that, as long as audience likes me and it works for me," Delnaaz told IANS. She further added that she would not like to take a chance and do something which people don't like her in. However, she is open to good offers. "I don't want to do something which people don't like me in. It is about who will take a chance and risk. If some producer wants to take a chance and give me something different, then he can," she said. Talking about newcomers coming into the industry, she said it tough to bag different roles. "With the kind of competition which exists today, it is tough to get a different role or a different character every time. But I am okay with playing similar roles, if the audience likes me in it," she said. But the actress has played a negative character in her play, " See No Evil, Hear no evil, Speak No Evil and Do No evil" "I am playing shades of grey in this play. It's an English play. I am playing a different role in that," she said. Irani said that she likes to keep all three mediums of acting; films, television and theatre alive. "After one daily and a play, I want to do more movies. I like to keep all my three mediums alive. I have had a trend of doing at least two plays over the year. I have one or two shows on TV. I am hoping for more films to happen," said Delnaaz, who shared screen space with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in 2003 movie " Kal Ho Naa Ho". The actress is currently seen in television show " Kehta Hai Dil Jee Le Zara"

Hosting KBC nerve-wracking for Amitabh Bachchan

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has hosted game show " Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC) five times but he still finds it nerve-wracking. Except for the third edition, which was hosted by superstar Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh has been seen on the quizmaster's seat. He has also shot three to four episodes of the seventh season of the show based on international quiz show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire". But the 70-year-old says he still feels nervous. "I do get nervous. Whether it is a press meet or work. It's nerve-wracking. I disagree that just because you are a professional you are not going to get nervous," Amitabh told reporters here during press conference held for launch of seventh season of KBC. Before KBC's recordings started earlier this week, Bachchan had even twitted about feeling jitters in stomach. The game show will be aired three times a week starting Sep 6.

Thanks to 'Balika Vadhu', I can act: Shashank Vyas

TV actor Shashank Vyas, who has successfully completed a three-year journey on "Balika Vadhu", credits the popular series for making him confident about his acting ability. The actor, who plays the key role of Jagdish aka Jagya in the Colors' show, says he was nervous and unsure of his acting skills when he stepped into the show in 2010. "Now I can say I can act! When I started my journey, I was nervous. I was worried about how I will cope up. Now I am quite confident of myself and of the show as well," Shashank told IANS. He says "Balika Vadhu" has been a learning experience. "It feels good to know how much people like the show after three years also. I am working with senior actors and working with them is a wonderful experience. I see my (acting) graph rising now," he said. However, he admits that his real challenge will only come after "Balika Vadhu". "My next journey will decide my career. This is my debut show and people accepted what I played. In my next show, it will be a challenge for me as an actor," he said. Shashank entered the social issue-based show when it took a leap in July 2010. Most TV shows are being pulled off air barely after a few months of their launch, but in the case of "Balika Vadhu", its story has made it a success, says the actor. "As far as daily soaps are concerned, writing is the main thing. There are so many brilliant actors, but if the work on paper is not good, you can't do anything," he said.

The show, based on international quiz show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", first went on air in 2000.

I take zero credit for KBC's popularity: Big B

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who is set to host the seventh season of gameshow "Kaun Banega Crorepati" (KBC), says he is just a host and doesn't take any credit for the show's popularity. "I take zero credit. The most important part of the show is the show itself. It's a very well constructed show and not just a simple question and answer thing. Very deep research has gone into it. Anybody can run the show. It's running in 127 countries and I am not there in those countries, I am only here in India. There is an intrinsic value in the show," said Amitabh Bachchan in a group interview. The forthcoming season will for the first time in the history of KBC will have a jackpot prize of Rs7 crores and is all set to get bigger, better and brighter. "Season 7 will be maha crorepati and this time the prize will be Rs. 7 crores. Its back - bigger, better and brighter with format tweaks," said Siddhartha Basu, CMD, Big Synergy Media Ltd. The show will have few changes, including a new lifeline called Power Paplu. The money tree will now consist of 15 questions. It will also have a brand new set and design elements adding glamor to this fantastic show. KBC will launch on September 6, Friday to Sunday at 8.30 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.

KBC seventh season launched with changes on it

The popular game show "Kaun Banega Crorepati", hosted by megastar Amitabh Bachchan, is back and this time it's bigger and better. The jackpot prize in the "Kaun Banega Crorepati 2013" will be Rs.7 crore and participants will have to answer 15 questions to win the whopping prize money. There will be four questions in the new feature "Sapta koti sandook" that will let contestants win from Rs. 1 crore to Rs. 3 crore, Rs. 5 crore and finally Rs. 7 crore. Entering the hot seat has become more challenging as 'Fastest finger first' round has been modified. It will now be called 'Best out of three'. That's not all. Five, instead of four, lifelines will help contestants to reach closer to prize money. While "audience poll" and "phone a friend" will continue as lifelines, "flip the question" will return in place of "ask the expert". "50:50" will replace "double dip". The latest addition is "power paplu". It will help to revive any used lifeline. The show, which has "seekhna bandh toh jeetna bandh" as central theme, will go on air on Sony Entertainment Television from September 6. Along with modifications in the game, the show's set has also been changed. "It has been shifted from Film city in Goregaon here to Yash Raj Films studio in Andheri West. The infrastructure is better. In Film city, if it rains hard you have to stop shooting. If generator can't take load, then also you have to stop," said Siddhartha Basu, chairman and managing director of Big Synergy Media Ltd. The show, based on international quiz show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", started in 2000.

"The show is going off air. It wasn't gaining TRPs ... any show that doesn't have TRPs shouldn't be on-air, so there is nothing left to say," said the actress on the sets of the show Tuesday. "I believe everything that happens in my life happens for a reason. So, I believe something bigger is waiting for me, that is why this has happened," said Sanaya. Diya Aur Baati Hum completes two years

At a time when TV shows don't enjoy long runs owing to abysmal ratings, 'Diya Aur Baati Hum' has been an exception. The top-rated show completes two years today. Conceptualised and produced by Shashi Sumeet Productions Pvt Ltd, it revolves around a husband who stands by his wife under all circumstances. We work relentlessly to ensure that we keep delivering this connect to our audience." "It is humbling to receive so much love for our show. Two years is a landmark, but we are not thinking about how many episodes it will complete. We just want to ensure that the show continues to get the same love from its audience," adds Sumeet.

Pavitra Sarkar entering Balika Vadhu

What is the harm in publicizing yourself? - Ashish Kaul

Ashish Kaul who has been part of the Television industry for the last 17 years has done shows like Kasautii Zindagi Kii, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on Star Plus, Kkusum on Sony TV. The actor who has stayed loyal to the television industry for many years now has never ventured into movies at all. He has also been seen in Savdhaan India @11 on Life OK, Haunted Nights on Sahara One, Crime Patrol and CID on Sony TV in episodic roles. TellyBuzz decided to speak to him about his decision on portraying cameo roles in the shows and what keeps him away from daily soaps. When asked Ashish about being a part only of episodics, he opines, "The reason I do episodics is that it's quite convenient for me to act in episodic as I can be with my family either in Delhi or Lucknow. I don't throw any tantrums on the sets because being a professional actor it is not right on my part to behave in the wrong manner and also I don't hike my rate for unnecessary reasons like other actors do. I shoot for an episodic because the role is sufficient enough to portray on screen." He spoke about his take on being committed to television, "I don't do daily soaps now because I am not willing to work for 25 days a month and if I do so then I will not be able to give time to my family. Moreover it makes no sense to do daily soaps, as my role is not sufficient enough. Daily soaps have lead actors who are the base of the show." We asked Ashish whether he was banned from the episodics for revealing stories of the episodic shows and he clarified, "To be honest, people from the production house don't actually do our publicity, so I simply tell about my cameo roles and if the production house feels I am doing wrong it's their call. I am doing it for the channel, for the show and for myself. What's the harm in doing your own publicity, but I would also like to say that I was never banned from doing episodic or cameos. In fact I remember that I was told to take up Bani-Ishq Da Kalma show on Colors wherein my costume, my look in the show had even got finalized but unfortunately they took someone else as I was not in Mumbai. It was the channel's call and there was nothing like I was banned or anything." Ashish shared with TellyBuzz, "I would like to say that I will soon be seen playing a pivotal role in CID, where I will play the villain in the show. However, there are several instances wherein I have played negative shades in the episodic and I have actually loved portraying the same in the episodic." He further said, "I have never done movies as I am happy doing episodics and cameos. The reason being, I feel comfortable with cameo roles and would continue doing that. People often ask me about future plans and I say that you will find me in some or the other episodic." Way to go Ashish!!

My fans say I look very sexy as Raavan on screen - Tarun Khanna

Tarun Khanna who is currently seen playing the role of Raavan in Devon Ke Dev. Mahadev on Life OK has been in the industry from the last nine years. He has played diverse roles and has made a mark for himself and also turned down offers!

In conversation with TellyBuzz he shares his good and bad experiences and hard facts about the industry.

It's been some months now that he is playing Raavan so what is the people's verdict about his role? Tarun shares, "Well I am so blessed that I am playing the role of Raavan and I feel that I am the biggest disciple of Lord Shiva. I feel that the Lord showered his blessings upon me and gave me this role. I wasn't the first choice to play Raavan because I was earlier rejected for the role and then I had almost lost all hopes when after a week I was called to start the shoot. Now I feel happy that this role was meant for me."

Talking about the journey of his character he said, "I am being praised a lot by fans as they call me hot and sexy. I still find it quite weird and awkward that how can Raavan look cute, hot or sexy but believe me my fans have been telling me stuff like this and I just thank them for appreciating and loving my character. Not only my fans but even people on the sets too praise me as well as my previous actors who have played Raavan who say that they can't be even one percent of what I am doing by portraying the role of Raavan. They love the way I portray the role and for me this is the biggest compliment. Even one of the senior actor who plays Raavan in Jai Jai Bajrangbali on Sahara One complimented me that I have changed the face of Raavan and that I am doing a marvelous job."

He went on to talk about his diction too, "I am a hardcore Delhi guy and thankfully my Hindi is flawless and I have been given the liberty to speak and change the dialogues and modify them my way by the makers. I am the only one who can do it as my command over the language is quite powerful."

At one end we have the greek God looking Lord Shiva with a perfect body in the form of Mohit Raina and a dashing, good looking Raavan who is as fit as Lord Shiva. They both surely have changed the look of Indian mythology, "My chemistry with Mohit Raina is good. Well, he is an amazing actor and I always wanted to play the role of Lord Shiva myself and sometimes I feel I would have done better than him but now after seeing him I feel he is the epitome of God and yes he is one of the most fabulous actors. I also feel I have changed the look of Raavan with my toned body."

Although now famous with a role like Raavan, Tarun shares a bad experience that he underwent few months back, "I was also part of CID as a cop but somehow I wasn't given a proper set of dialogues for which I had a tiff with the production house. So I can say that I have had my share of worst experiences but for me playing a Raavan is a boon."

Tarun concluded about his future plans by saying, "I am looking out for good work that comes my way and I have no clue what the future holds for me, but post Raavan I want something that is as powerful as Raavan."

Oodles of luck and prosperity to the sexiest Raavan on screen!!

My dream guy should be from the television industry - Esha Kansara

The petite and gorgeous actress Esha Kansara, who is presently seen playing the main lead in Star Plus popular show Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi...Meri Bhabhi, spills the beans about her relationship status. The actress is very much single and therefore she is on the hot seat this week.

In conversation with the actress on our 'Most Eligible Bachelor' column, the eligible bachelorette has something interesting to share with us...

Being single, are you ready to mingle?
Of course I am single but right now there is no possibility to mingle. I spend most of my time shooting on the sets and unfortunately all the guys around me are already married. Moreover, I don't have time to invest in a love relationship since I'm too busy to foster my show. However, I come across a nice guy, I don't mind mingling up.

What is the first thing you notice in a guy?
Whenever a good looking guy passes besides me, the first thing I notice in him is the dressing style and fragrance. For me, it becomes easy to judge a personality by his/her choice of cologne.

What's the one thing that puts you off the most in a guy?
A thing that puts me off in a guy is the body odor and disastrous fashion sense.

How do you want your dream guy to be like?
Well, I want my dream guy to be very presentable and chilled out. He should be just like me, who loves to party hard. Most importantly, when she opens his mouth, she should be able to speak good English. In addition to this, he should be very understanding and compatible in every way. In fact, I want my dream guy to be from the television industry itself because I don't think anybody else will able to understand an actor's life, its pros and cons.

Your idea of a perfect proposal.
I don't really admire very cheesy proposals, whereby the guy goes down on his knees or surprises with a ring in a glass. Instead, I would be rather appreciating an unexpected email or a message through a friend. Since I'm very passionate about dancing, I would be glad if a guy asks me for a dance and then disclose his feelings for me.

If you could mix a Hollywood actor and a Bollywood actor to create your dream guy, then who would you choose?
If I could really do that then, I would prefer Ranbir Kapoor from Bollywood because he is very cute, yet witty and flirty. And from Hollywood, I would choose Johnny Depp because of his rough looks, as I've seen him in 'The Pirates of Caribbean'.

Being a bachelor, how does it feel?
Being a bachelorette feels awesome. I am pretty happy with my life right now as I don't have to bother and care about anybody else's life. I have no commitments and no compulsions.

If there was matrimony or a dating ad for you, what would it read like?
I simply don't believe in arrange marriages, so I would publicize myself to get married to just any other unknown person. However, I desire to go on a typical blind date, which your parents usually arrange and get an experience of it. (Laughs)

After acting in popular shows like Shanti and Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Mandira appeared on TV shows as a host or anchor. Now, she is back on television after nine years with Indian adaptation of American drama series 24. "I have always been on television in cricket hosting, anchoring reality shows. On personal front, Mandira, who is married to director Raj Kaushal and has a son named Vir, seems quite excited to adopt a baby girl. "We will be bringing a baby girl home soon. Will Aamir Khan, Salman Khan sign up for Andaz Apna Apna sequel?

Director Rajkumar Santoshi is planning a sequel to the 1994 film Andaz Apna Apna and, according to reports, the filmmaker is trying everything in his power to get the lead actors of the original cult classic, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, to sign up for part two. "I am working on the script. I have had discussions about it with Aamir and Salman. When I complete the script, I will hand it over to both of them. If everything falls in place, they will be part of the sequel too. But if, in case, they don't have the time, I will get new actors on board," said Rajkumar Santoshi. We may have to wait for the final announcement about the actors, but apparently actresses Karisma Kapur and Raveena Tandon, the original heroines, will play a small part in the film. "The film is not possible without Karisma and Raveena. I don't want to reveal the story, but there is a scene in the beginning that features them," said the filmmaker. According to Mr Santoshi, the sequel will carry forward the story of the original and the two protagonists Amar and Prem (played by Aamir and Salman respectively) will take on new adventures. "The story moves ahead (in the sequel). It is about two characters and their new adventures," he said. Aamir and Salman have come a long way since Andaz Apna Apna and this will be one casting coup which may take a lot of persuasion, given that Aamir is known for doing one film a year. On the other hand, date issues may be a real hurdle in roping in busy actor Salman Khan. If all goes well, apart from a laugh riot, Andaz Apna Apna 2 is certain to keep the cash registers ringing.

Reality shows are not my cup of tea: Sushant Singh

Actor Sushant Singh is in a happy state of mind these days. With two films releasing this year, he says he is satisfied as an actor. "I have two films releasing this year. One is Dirty Politics, in which I play a cop, and the other Vikram Bhatt's Hate Story 2," says Sushant, and jokes, "Sadly though, I have no scene with Mallika Sherawat in Dirty Politics. Pata nahi director ne itna zulm kyun kiya mujhpe - I do one film with Mallika and I don't get even one scene with her! I come in after her death." Despite having played roles in successful films like Satya and Sehar in the past, Sushant rues there aren't enough quality roles coming his way. "I don't know why popular filmmakers don't think of me. Maybe they think I don't fit in their films. Maybe someone will notice me," he says. But Sushant, who was in Lucknow recently, is happy that the films he's done are counted among the better ones in the industry. "My films in the past like Satya, Kaun, Jungle and Sehar are still talked about. In fact, Sehar which was shot in Lucknow and was the story of a Lucknow cop, has become a cult film. It's been great to be associated with such a film. I am always looking for a well-written role. I don't restrict myself to playing only a positive or a negative role. A role should always allow me to explore, to challenge my creativity," he emphasises. Sushant traces his acting roots to theatre, but has abstained from the medium for a long time. "Because theatre se ghar nahi chalta," he explains, "For an actor it's the most satisfying medium because the instant reaction from the audience is very heady. But then, the kitchen fires have to be kept burning, for which the earnings from theatre do not suffice. Isliye you will see most theatre actors turning to either films or TV." Talk of TV brings us to his stint on the small screen. "This show of mine, Savdhan India - India Fights Back is getting me great feedback. People actually stop me on the streets and tell me about their problems, though I can hardly do anything for them. It has got me recognition and fans. Ek actor ko aur kya chahiye!" gushes Sushant, who has himself seen the dark side of society and law when he and his family made endless rounds of police stations and courts to bring justice to his elder sister, who was killed for dowry. "This happened in 1993 and my parents and I fought a long-drawn battle in court, but to no avail. I miss her a lot because she was my friend, philosopher and guide. She was just two years older than me," Sushant shares, "It's sad that we are part of this system and I feel very angry when I see injustice being meted out to people. People do ask me why we portray the police in such a positive light on our show and I tell them we have both good and bad people around us. In my sister's case we met both kinds. There were the ones who wouldn't even register our complaints and there were others who helped us in the investigations. But just because my experience was not good, I can't judge everyone. It was a very bitter learning experience, one which I hope, no one goes through," said the actor, who felt the grief even more as he talked about his sister on Raksha Bandhan. Coming back to TV, Sushant adds he isn't keen on doing other TV shows. "Reality shows are not my cup of tea. I can't sing nor can I dance. Aur bacha kya karne ko?" he elaborates. Sushant is also currently involved in the rehabilitation of the people of Uttarakhand. "We have this foundation which is working to help people get back to their normal lives there as soon as possible. We have already done one rock show fundraiser in Delhi and we are planning a photo exhibition in Delhi for the same cause,"he says.

Hrithik’s trainer banned from gym

The person responsible for the chiselled bodies of HrithikRoshan and John Abraham, has been prohibited to train at one of the city’s most popular gyms. Kris Gethin, who flew all the way from LA to help Hrithik bulk up for ‘Krrish 3′, recently got a call from Gold’s Gym, Bandra. The Welsh trainer was asked not to enter the premises of the gym. The reason? “They told me that they suspect that I would take away their clients. I am, to say the least, shocked,” said a fuming Kris. Although, Gold Gym’s VP and Mktg Head Althea Shah denied any such reason behind the decision, she confirmed that Kris has been asked not to enter the gym. According to her, it is a policy issue. The COO of the gym, IstayakAnsari, told TOI, “We do not allow external trainers to train here.” According to another senior official, Kris had been given ‘complimentary access’ to the gym because he used to accompany the body builder Sheru Angaarish who is a part of the fitness franchise. “But Kris recently parted with Sheru, which in turn led the gym to debar him.” Claiming he had paid membership, Kris added, “Physical fitness instructors also have the right to train at gyms. We can’t be punished like this for our profession. I am not stealing any client from anybody. I don’t need to.”

Reel couples who don’t talk to each other in real life

'Jodha-Akbar' is a love story, but the actors in this TV show — Rajat Tokas and Paridhi Sharma — don't talk to each other in real life. So, what is the issue? Says a source, "Rajat feels he is senior to Paridhi and so, keeps away. Hence, they haven't been able to break the ice. Even though they don't communicate, they manage to shoot their scenes without any issues." This is not the only case on TV. There are other onscreen couples who do not get along in real life, but it hasn't affected their work. Here are a few examples: Simran kaur-Mudit Nayar (Anamika) Simran, who plays the title role, is an introvert. She keeps to herself on the set. "She may be reserved, but people feel she acts like a diva. Mudit and she just couldn't strike a rapport. They don't speak to each other once their scenes are over." Hina Khan—Karan Mehra ( Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai) Though the show has been running for over four years, the lead couple Karan and Hina are yet to warm up to each other. They've had no showdown over anything, yet they keep to themselves and don't communicate even during breaks. Sanaya Irani—Farhan Khan (Chhanchhan) Farhan had a tough time striking the right chord with Sanaya, which, in turn, affected their onscreen chemistry. He was eventually replaced in the show. Farhan had reportedly said that Sanaya was rude to him during their shoot.

Chef Kunal Kapur mellowed down on the sets on Junior Masterchef

Chef Kunal Kapur who is known for his blunt feedback, seems to have mellowed down. The reason for this change is kids but also because he is for the first time dealing with so many of them. Kunal who is a veteran on Masterchef is very happy with this change in himself. Recently while shooting for Junior Masterchef Swaad Ke Ustaad, Chef Kunal's emotions took an upper hand when one of the contestants started crying at the cooking stations. Sakshi who oozed out tears because of her dish, melted the heart of Chef Kunal. While she wasn't confident to finish the dish in time, Kunal boosted the moral of the twelve years old and put in a word of confidence. "I have always been very strict about food and feedback but these contestants have melted my heart. They are so good and it's an amazing feeling to watch the tiny hands chop vegetable so finely. The credit of this change in my totally goes out to these wonderful small packets of joy. My heart melts to watch any of these kids cry, as they are all doing great cooking, which even a full grown chef would find difficult. We are all very proud of these little chefs", confessed an elated Chef Kunal Kapur.
